The final compositions will extend beyond conventional musical forms. I am composing all of the instrumental parts with an app — no sampling — and I never formally studied music composition. Live musicians — with me on piano — will perform the completed compositions. Growing up in York, PA, I was an advanced pianist, ballerina and painter — runs in the family.
I gave recitals and played jazz piano with the York High Jazz Band (which has produced a number of well-known musicians). During 1992 to '95, I performed blues piano at clubs with my guitarist boyfriend. However, I cannot stand playing any conventional genre of music — or music composed by someone else.
The photo of me playing the grand piano was shot at the First Presbyterian Church of York, Pennsylvania in 2016. In childhood, I gave a Beethoven recital there. I was born and raised in York.
