This page will be updated with more photos of my post-minialist, large-scale, multimedia installation in the 3rd Los Angeles Contemporary Annuale in September-October 1988. I am a Straight Biological Woman. I was selected for the show along with my boyfriend — Charles Field — with whom I was in a faithful relationship. At age 25, I was libeled in Klik Magazine in the article "L.A. Art" by Costas Salpas. Salpas interviewed me and the other artists in the show, but he lied outrageously, in print, about my CalArts MFA Show, my LACE installation, and me, personally. The curator of the show, Jennifer Wells, was from the Museum of Modern Art. In an angry tone of voice, Jennifer intimidated and gaslit me (an emerging artist) out of suing Klik. She falsely, absurdly claimed that I had a big head for being upset about the libel, and no one would even notice it. I can assure the public, Jennifer Wells, and probably MoMA and LACE, as well, would have sued Klik immediately, if Jennifer had been the target of that libel. Jennifer went on to become the curator of the UBS Paine Webber Collection. Meanwhile, many people noticed the libel in Klik but did not realize it was libel, because I was bullied out of suing Klik at the start of my career. The libel and the institutional cover-up of that libel has injured me and my family for decades. Due to decades of RICO-level abuses of me, both civil and criminal, at the start of 2019 I was coercively trafficked into having to take a survival job as a security guard at UBS Paine Webber, which paid me less than $16/hour. This was not long after my renowned but overly humble, middle-class father, attorney and musician Harry Jay Rubin, had died, wrongfully, in March 2018. He was also repeatedly injured by years of civil and criminal abuses of me.
